Much like the grant money that was funding this workshop, this website has been re-purposed for an AGEL collaboration meeting for ALMA proposal planning.
Workshop Postponed to Summer 2021
As you have probably guessed given the ongoing global health crisis, we will not be having the workshop this summer. Luckily, our funding was extended and we will be able to have the workshop next summer in 2021. We’re still deciding on the precise dates, so watch this space for more information!
Workshop plans and COVID-19
Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation and travel restrictions with unknown horizons for many attendees, the SOC is considering postponing the workshop. We are currently weighing potential alternatives. We will make a decision by April 10th (three months before the workshop) at the absolute latest in order to ensure attendees would have enough time to purchases flights. In the meantime, please go ahead and continue to register, if for no other reason than to let us know of your interest. But please do not purchase any flights to Singapore at this time. We’ll post again as soon as we make a final decision!
First Announcement
You are invited to apply to attend a workshop on Resolving Star Formation in the Early Universe. This two week Aspen-like workshop or “unconference” is meant to be an opportunity to gather those who have been thinking about issues in star formation and galaxy evolution at high redshift who want to push observational boundaries in resolved multi-wavelength studies. What are the major problems that still need to be solved? What observations do we need? What does theory predict and how can observers better constrain those theories? This workshop will have a minimum of talks each day and ample opportunity to discuss these questions with the aim to develop new collaborative efforts to answer them.
